Restoring an old Biesemeyer Fence for the 20" BandSaw * Part 2

So Im installing a biesemeyer fence on a 20" bandsaw for resaw. I have an old biesemeyer that needs a restoration that would be perfect on this big bandsaw so thats the plan, restore the biesemeyer & install it on the saw.
Part 1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BtlL3XI74KA I primarily use rustoleum oil based paints when refinishing most of my metal work, I find this enamel to be an extremely durable finish & holds up in all industrial settings.
First thing I did was strip the fence down removing all accessories, in part one I repaired the lower area that rides along the rails with laminate, I used hot glue to attach it to the metal, worked like a charm.
The bolts that hold the curser thingamajig was rusted to the fence t-square so I soaked it in rust penetrant for a few hours & was able to free the bolt, woo hoo, that could of been messy. I used a wire wheel to clean up the items & then preformed a wipe down with using denatured alcohol in preparation for the primer & paint but first I needed to trim off some of the length of the long fence. While in place it hung off the back too far & could become a shoulder bumper so I cut less than 5" off the end, its enough so the fence can still be used on any table saw if desired but it made for a better fit on this bandsaw setup. In reality I could have taken off 12" but I resisted & settled for 5"
The original curser was broken, they do sell replacements for about 10 bucks but why waste $ & time when I can make my own in a few minutes. I used a scrap piece of 1/4" plexiglass & cut it to fit, used a new cold chisel as if it were a scriber & a square to etch a new reader line on the new curser. I then taped off the surrounding area & applied black paint to the scratch, rubbed it in, let dry for a few minutes & cleaned up the mess. It works great & was better than spending money. I like to make stuff so it worked for me.
You can see in the video that I REUSED THE ORIGINAL TAPE MEASURE , all I did was clean it up & used contact cement & applied it upside down. This also saved me time & another 10 bucks, all the dollars saved do tend to add up.
Lastly I waxed over the new paint & top to reduce friction while moving the fence around. In most cases for example painting a car it is best to let the fresh paint cure for a few weeks before applying wax but here I was not worried, its just a bandsaw fence after all......
Now lets address the wood I secured to the fence. I opted to not install any on the throat side to increase my resaw capacity. In most cases when folks restore a biesemeyer fence or even manufactures of new t-square style fences they secure baltic birch to the metal fence and then add hi pressure laminate on top of that to hide the screws & make it tough. Well for one I don't have any baltic birch 32" long & two I wanted a TALL Disposable Fence I could destroy & replace as needed so I used a scrap piece of laid up material (laminate over particle board) & edged the ends. Its 5" tall compared to the stock 2.5". That was no accident, I have an idea of how i could use that taller fence in conjunction with different jigs to resaw logs. I haven't tried it yet but when I do ill be sure to record it to add to this series here.

Thats it folks, the budget resaw bandsaw project was a success. In all the total cost was about $600 which includes the saw (500) fence (75) casters for the cart (25) paint (had) new blade (25)

I didn't care for the song at first but after hearing it a few times it stuck so I edited this video to it. Looking back I'm not sure that was a good choice but I went with it.
