Micro trenching. How it became “mature” From test to actual roll out in FTTH projects

Invention fuels innovation. GM Plast A/S has always been driven by curiosity and an open mind towards solutions and methods.

In 2008 an already known technology was introduced with new machinery and solutions. Trenching with saw wheel wasn’t new.

However, making small machines suitable for urban environments and being remote controlled was a new a novel method that required a new mindset in regards of network construction.

Micro trenching. A video “movie” intended to document the deployment technique that was new to the industry a decade ago but nowadays increasingly often is used for fiber roll out.

In this video, we will document our part in this and have a look on some of the projects that crystalized as consequence of machinery, solutions, products and most importantly people.
