What Does It Take To Photograph With Compassion In An Inhumane War?

Photographer Larry Burrows was hailed as the greatest of his generation for the combat images he created of the Vietnam War.

Ralph Graves, managing editor of Life Magazine said of Larry Burrows – I do not think it is demeaning to any other photographer in the world for me to say that Larry Burrows was the single bravest and most dedicated war photographer I know of.

As a combat photographer covering the Vietnam war, Larry Burrows left behind a legacy of famous photographs, including 'Reaching Out', and the legendary 'One Ride With Yankee Papa 13'.

Inspired by an encounter with Larry Burrows Leica, this introduction to his combat photography covers his time in Vietnam as a combat photographer until his death in 1971.
