Live Die Repeat aka Edge of Tomorrow is a 2014 blockbuster sci-fi action movie starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt. It's a fantastic movie overall, but also one of the most concept-heavy films of all time, with elements like aliens and time travel and exo-suits. And since high-concept is still the best route to getting our own scripts sold, let's dig into how Live Die Repeat shines at it. We've covered concept before in my videos on Tenet and Gemini Man and The Old Guard, but now let's elaborate! It's a real bummer the marketing for this movie sucked and it ended up flopping at the box office and losing a bunch of money. I still hope we'll get a sequel. Because unlike with The Tomorrow War where I was joking around a bit, this time I'm being 100% genuine.

Live Die Repeat: Edge of Tomorrow (2014)
Oscar® nominee Tom Cruise (the "Mission: Impossible" films) and Emily Blunt star in Warner Bros. Pictures' and Village Roadshow Pictures' sci-fi thriller "Live Die Repeat: Edge of Tomorrow," under the direction of Doug Liman ("The Bourne Identity," "Mr. & Mrs. Smith"). The epic action of "Edge of Tomorrow" unfolds in a near future in which an alien race has hit the Earth in an unrelenting assault, unbeatable by any military unit in the world. Major William Cage (Cruise) is an officer who has never seen a day of combat when he is unceremoniously dropped into what amounts to a suicide mission. Killed within minutes, Cage now finds himself inexplicably thrown into a time loop—forcing him to live out the same brutal combat over and over, everything wrong with edge of tomorrow honest trailer edge of tomorrow ending explained edge of tomorrow 2 live die repeat repeat high-concept edge of tomorrow beach scene fighting edge of tomorrow 2014 beach battle only action edge of tomorrow exo-suit training montage tenet old guard gemini man concept tom cruise action scenes tom cruise movies fighting and dying again...and again. And, as Cage and Rita take the fight to the aliens, each repeated encounter gets them one step closer to defeating the enemy.

Written and directed by Christopher Nolan; co-starring Michael Caine and Kenneth Branagh.
