Vinyl Siding Repair – Chimney Area Reinforced with Screws & Caulking

In this video, I show how I repaired loose vinyl siding around a chimney that kept coming out because of short nails. The wind was getting behind the siding, shaking it, and pulling out more rows every time.

To fix the problem, I:

Secured seven rows of siding with long screws directly into the wood (about 1.5 inches penetration).

Tightened all the corners where short nails had failed.

Applied caulking to every screw and nail head for extra water protection and to prevent rust.
This method made not only the seven rows stronger but also reinforced the upper and lower rows, leaving the whole chimney area sealed and secure. The homeowner was very satisfied with the fast and professional repair.
