Few years back Manual testing was in high demand but not anymore I am not saying it will completely vanish scope would be there always but it would limited as the time flies .

Down the lines in Coming years pure manual testing opportunity would be very less . It would be completely not recommended, if you are going to rely on manual testing entirely.

Expand your horizon learn automation , database , security & performance testing for Long term rewarding career .

Now tester are closer to software developer in term of technical skill

Automation is in demand and testing is also in demand. If you know how to automate that doesnot makes you a tester but you know how to test and provide coverage and quality, you are a good tester.

Discovering yourself is a good SDET, so if you wish to learn automation, please try. Scope is always there and It will be.
