I spent 2 weeks in Surabaya and saw most of the things worth seeing. So here is my answer to the question: Apakah Surabaya Layak Dikunjungi? or Is Surabaya worth visiting?
The short answer is, DEFINITELY! Not many tourists come here so despite having over 10 million people in the city, the locals are still surprised to see me and I get stares like a celebrity. People want to take pictures with me and shout "hello mister" with no bad intentions.
Besides the strong history of the inner city, there are places like Madura and Malang just a short drive away so you can enjoy history if it's your thing, visit some paradise islands or enjoy a day in a rainbow village.
My verdict is - Visit it! But keep in mind, 2 weeks is probably the most you'll need to explore most of it.
