Media Errors On The HiTi S420 Passport Photo Printer

In this video we’ll discuss errors seen with the new HitTi media used in older S420 printers.

Hiti has made a change to their ink cartridges used in the S420 photo printer.

The old media pack is printed with black ink, while the newer packs are printed in red.

You can see the new ink cartridge is lacking the smart chip.

This can cause errors on some printers’ hand controllers like:

Ribbon Out

Ribbon Mismatch

or Paper Mismatch

Additionally, your printer may be missing the new copper antistatic strip that’s shown here.
