The flowers of this beautiful rose really seem to play with colors depending on the weather and the age of the flower-sometimes admiring orange-scarlet, then showing the predominance of salmon-orange, then diluting the color with notes of apricot or amber tones, then showing noble copper tones. It is very difficult to make an impression about its color without being able to contemplate this beauty. Flowers of Westerland, consisting of 25-30 petals, will not delight with special Terry, and will show touching stamens, but thanks to the wavy shape of the petals, which are effectively folded flower shape, Westerland is very similar in appearance to the so-called "lace roses", which are so rapidly becoming fashionable today. Westerland was bred by crossing Friedrich Wörlein × Circus in 1969 in Germany (Reimer Kordes) and for the first five years won the recognition of rose growers, after which it became a recognized rose, which today can be heard as a reliable, proven variety. When buying a Westerland, keep in mind that It has a number of synonyms such as Climbing Westerland, KORlawe, KORwest.

At first, this variety was grown only in Germany, and for the first five years after introduction, the variety could not get an ADR certificate. Now the unique qualities of the variety are recognized by gardeners all over the world, and in hot areas it is also grown as a low climbing rose. The only problem with the variety (if you can call it a problem) is its color-a glowing blend of scarlet, orange, pink, yellow and amber – which is difficult to work with in a small garden. Flowers are large, semi-double, with wavy petals, appear in large loose racemes of 5-10 PCs. It begins to bloom early and blooms again until late autumn. Each wave of flowering is very long, so the Bush rarely stands without flowers. The foliage is elongated, dark, resistant to diseases and well shades the bright flowers.
