My VR180 rig with K2 Pro
Many users are asking how should we rigging up for the K2 Pro. Here is the setup of today:
1. K2 Pro (Pre-production edition)
2. Sync cable by Alvin's Cable (included with K2 Pro now)
3. Sony NP-F970 batteries x2 (V-mount battery recommended if you want to shoot for a long time)
4. Sandisk extreme SSD 3.1 x2 (cfast 2.0 cards by Angelbird/Sandisk/Sony recommended)
5. a video tripod with payload at 10kg
6. a horizontal bar with payload at 5kg (some flat long quick release bar may BEND over time)
7. quick release plates for fast assembly
8. bubble leveler. (put it on the top of the cam. we can adjust for the roll offset very easily with the horizontal bar, or we can tune at the ball joint of the tripod)
9. a field monitor (an Odyssey 7Q+ showing here, while Atomos Ninja V is recommended as it will able to control the camera too)
10. hdmi 2.0 cable (1m)
11. lightning-to-Ethernet adapter (for controlling the camera with my iPhone via the Ethernet port. lightning-to-USBc cable cannot be used as the USB port was jammed by my Sandisk SSD) (we can use wifi, but the preview may be slow and laggy)
12. a cat.6 Ethernet cable, 2m (the flat style is recommended, stable and easy to pack)
13. Zoom H2n audio recorder with fw3.00 that support ambisonic recording
14. wind jacket for H2n
15. a 7-inch magic arm to hold the microphone in place
The overall weight was about 10kg. I need a trolley to move them around :)
if you are not so care about the color accuracy of the field display, you may use two iPad mini for easy preview and control.
