Teslin polifazni sistem naizmenicne struje dobio je pun zamah kada je Tesla nasao resenje za obrtno magnetno polje naizmenicne struje koje je omogucilo da konstruise i ponudi na upotrebu indukcioni motor. Tek pojavom Teslinog resenja indukcionog motora polifazne naizmenicne struje mogla je naizmenicna struja da nadje siroku primenu u svim oblastima ljudske delatnosti, a narocito u industrijske svrhe.
