Oggi è difficile immaginare come poteva essere l’area di Rialto e del suo mercato anche solo cento anni fa; immaginatevi tre, quattro, cinquecento anni fa! Tuttavia qui, più che altrove, trovavano spazio moltissime corporazioni artigianali e mercantili. E una categoria davvero particolare: quella dei “oresi”, gli orafi della Serenissima.

Today it is hard to imagine what the Rialto area and its market could have been just a hundred years ago; imagine yourself three, four, five hundred years ago! Yet here, more than anywhere else, there were many craft and merchant guilds. And a very special category: that of the “oresi", the goldsmiths of the Serenissima.
