Staten Island Technical High School in New Dorp will stage a full-scale production of Annie this wee

Staten Island Technical High School in New Dorp will stage a full-scale production of Annie this weekend, bringing Broadway-style energy to the campus. A cast, crew and pit band of about 130 students from all grade levels spent months in after-school rehearsals, balancing academics with the show’s demands. The production is directed by theatre teacher Heather Brown, with music led by band conductor Robert Rams and musical director Paul Wiley. Senior Omar Mohamed portrays Daddy Warbucks and says the experience has helped him forge new friendships and gain confidence by being part of something larger than himself. The performances will run in the school’s auditorium, with opening show on Thursday, April 23 at 5and30 p.m., followed by shows on Friday, April 24, and Saturday, April 25 at 7 p.m. Tickets are available online through CUR8; promotional codes like “THESTRAYS” and “Tomorrow” may offer discounts. Discounts may vary by performance today.
