In this video we will go over soldering iron tips and best tips to choose. You can choose from allot of soldering iron tips and that includes Chisel tips, bevel soldering iron tips, conical soldering iron tips, knife and bent tips. We focus on tip sizes and how size does matter. the bigger the soldering iron tip the more heat transfer to the board. Temperature is irrelevant. Choosing a soldering iron with a bigger surface area is the best way to go. Choose the biggest soldering tip that will fit in the area you are working on. We demonstrate heat transfer using a Fir thermal cam. Remember you can only desolder a component when the board reaches a temperature that is high enough to melt the solder. In order to get the board to heat faster, we use bigger tips.
