How to Create Bootable Windows 10 USB in Ubuntu Linux Without WoeUSB [2019]
If you want to create a bootable Windows 10 USB in Ubuntu or other Linux distributions, the procedure is dead simple.
In an earlier tutorial, I used WoeUSB to create the bootable Windows USB: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8KNg6e3aKc
The problem is that WoeUSB is not available in all Linux versions and the software crashed for several users.
So, this time, I am showing you the method that doesn't require WoeUSB or any additional software at least in Ubuntu Linux.
You can read the text version of this tutorial here: https://itsfoss.com/bootable-windows-usb-linux/
I'll brief the process anyway. Here are the steps:
Step 1: Download Windows 10 ISO file. Here's the link to the official website: https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/software-download/windows10
Step 2: Insert a USB disk (of capacity equal or more than 8 GB) and format it to Windows compatible format like FAT (recommended) or NTFS.
Step 3: Mount the Windows 10 ISO and copy its content and paste it to the USB disk. Once the files are copied, your bootable Windows 10 disk is ready.
To use the bootable Windows USB, plug it in the computer and restart/power on the system. Now at the boot time, press F10/F12 to go into the boot settings and choose to boot from the USB/Removable media. Once you do that, you should see that the Windows giving you the option to install it or repair the system.
Congratulations! Your bootable Windows 10 USB is working fine. Let me know in the comments if this method worked for you or not.
