The TRAGIC Death Of Anne Frank

One of the most famous legacies of the Second World War and the Holocaust is the story of Anne Frank. Today she is considered an inspiration and her writing inside her diary shows incredibly maturity but also how she maintained hope whilst living in the midst of Nazi-occupied Amsterdam. Her diary, 'The Diary of a Young Girl,' which was published following the war shows us what it was like for Anne and the Frank family living inside the secret annex.

This video tells the story of Anne's tragic death inside Bergen-Belsen Concentration Camp, and also tells how her family were betrayed and what they went through after being arrested by the Gestapo. The Frank family along with the other people hiding inside the Secret Annex were transported to Auschwitz, and were forced to work inside the horrific conditions of the camp. Anne and her sister Margot would eventually be split up from their mother, and were forced to leave Auschwitz and were transported to Bergen-Belsen.

At Belsen, the conditions were horrific and disease spread quickly across the camp. It was estimated that at one time around 1000 people a day were dying of epidemics such as Typhus and Typhoid Fever that gripped the camp. It would be this which would kill Anne Frank and her sister Margot. The cruelty in which she was kept in was barbaric, and it was noted how she suffered and how emaciated she was.

Today Anne is remembered for being an incredibly inspirational person, who even in the midst of the darkness, tried to remain positive and continue as normal. At the heart of her story is a 15 year old girl, who dreamed to one day become a journalist, however this dream and her life was taken away by one of the most villainous and disgusting regimes even seen in History.
