Sharon Corr goes it alone

Irish singer-songwriter Sharon Corr and her violin are back in the country.

She's out here supporting 1970s band America, who play tonight in Auckland.

Corr joined Paul Henry in studio this morning.

"I think women and the violin for some reason, people find it very attractive. It's kind of mystical and otherworldly, especially if it's Irish," Corr says.

"I love being solo. You go on your own journey musically. I get to reach the full potential of who I am as a solo artist. I also loved being on stage with the Corrs."
