Homemade PEACH Ice Cream using a Cuisenart Ice Cream Maker! (Episode - 3)
#CISK, #chefjohn, #castironskilletkitchen, #chefjohnandrebecca 1/2 pre-baked pie crust, crumbled; 2 peaches, peeled, diced and sprinkled with 1/4 cup sugar; reserve peels.
The ice cream base: 2 cups whole milk, 1 cup heavy cream, 3/4 cup sugar, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1 vanilla bean split and scraped OR 1 tsp vanilla extract.
Combine peach peels, vanilla bean, cinnamon and sugar with milk. Heat over med heat until milk steams. Remove from heat and let cool. Add cream and juice/syrup from peaches. Refrigerate until chilled. Use your favorite method of making ice cream to chill and freeze the liquid base. Add the solid ingredients when ice cream is just about finished. Crumble the pie crust into the ice cream and add the peaches, syrup and all. Continue the freeze process until it's firm enough to not immediately fall off a spoon. Place in a freezer safe container, cover and place in the freezer compartment. Stir every 30-45 mins until it reaches the consistancy you like.
