"Meiji Winners and Losers" // Video lecture, Justin Aukema

In this video, I continue our discussion of the global history of capitalism, and build on the previous lecture on Noro Eitaro's work on the history of capitalism in Japan. In particular, I examine the effects of Japan's modernization process and the introduction of capitalism on average people.
