LX570 and Land Cruiser AHC Suspension - Step by Step Globe Accumulator Replacement and Installation

In this video I will walk you through the step by step procedure on how to replace the accumulator globes on the Lexus LX570. (00:12) today we are going to be changing the suspension accumulator globes on this lx 570. the old ones aren't too bad but the suspension is starting to get a little bit bouncy if you don't know these cars have a hydraulic suspension that's controlled by a combination of hydraulic fluid and also nitrogen-filled globes that are there to dampen the ride we'll take a look at the accumulators on the vehicle here in just a minute but this is what they look like there are two for the front two for the back these are brand new ones from
(02:39) large bracing component off and then you should be able to access the pieces you need to to get the globes off those are all going to be a 12 millimeter bolt on the head so you want to use a 12 millimeter socket you may have to use a combination of short long sockets and different extension types to be able to get to all of them especially the ones towards the rear so let's go ahead and get that done i'm going to start with the front two here a regular deep socket should do the trick and be able to fit in there
(03:19) all right we got the front two bolts out it wasn't too bad the top one uh took a little bit of wiggling but it came right out and move on to the next one here already got it partially loosened all right that one is out now before i take out this next one that's uh closest to the accumulator globes i'm gonna remove the far rear one that way this uh the entire weight of this support doesn't end up making it more difficult to remove the rear bolt and the one in the back is a little bit tricky to get to
(03:53) let me see if i can get you a good view of it it's that one towards the right of the picture that you're seeing so you can get up there i'm going to try a combination of either a socket or socket plus an extension here all right so regular socket or deep socket did not get me in there what i ended up having to do is use a swivel along with the uh a deep socket you see the deep socket there and the swivel is right there a 3 8 inch ratchet and we'll go ahead and try to get this guy off here all right
(08:34) or rust or anything else around the area if you do wipe it down and then you can screw the new one right back in all right all right so we've got our new front accumulator in place and tightened down make sure you wipe up any uh drips or anything with the hydraulic fluid and then we also got our rear one on both of them came off very easy went back on very easy make sure you have a little drip pan again underneath to catch any drips so it's not making a mess of hydraulic fluid overall very simple and then we're going
(09:04) to put the bracing back on then move on to the other side of the vehicle so now we're moving on to the passenger side the right side of the vehicle i've already got the support bracing off and the locations are about the same as the other side we've got the front accumulator here the module and the bleed valve there go back a little bit got the module and the accumulator here and then again the bleed valve for it on the back side so just like the other side first i'm going to bleed the front one then bleed the back one
(09:51) then bleed the front one again and take the accumulator off put the new one on then bleed the back one again and then replace the accumulator and then i'll show you guys what happens after that here in just a second all right so now we've got brand new front accumulator on the passenger side and a brand new rear accumulator on the passenger side and again make sure you wipe up any drips don't leave it on the paint one thing i did notice is that after bleeding and re-leaning the front and taking the accumulator off only a few
