LJP has decided not to contest the 2020 Bihar assembly elections with JD(U) supremo Nitish Kumar as the chief ministerial face of the NDA alliance. The decision have been taken during the LJP's parliamentary board meeting on Sunday chaired by Chirag Paswan. All members of the party have reportedly decided to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi which means that LJP could field candidates against JD(U) but not against BJP. This essentially means that the LJP will contest the Bihar elections outside the fold of the NDA while remaining an alliance partner.
