Reinforcing The BMW E36 Chassis [Turbo E36 Concepts 4: Chassis Modifications]

The BMW E36 generation is well known for its well balanced performance and handling. But once you start adding modifications like stiffer suspension components, turbos, superchargers, or perform an engine swap altogether, the chassis of the E36 requires some modifications to retain structural rigidity. I hope that this information is helpful, as most of these things applied to my Turbo E36 build!

*UPDATE on my errors*: subscriber "Crook Ed" brings up a good point in the comments about vibrations in a reinforced chassis and solid bushings. With welded plates and solid bushings (I recommend Condor Speed shop btw) your e36 will have a slight increase of cabin vibrations, but in my opinion it's minimal. But if you want a ride that is smoother poly bushings are a great middle ground. Subscriber "Aaron B" also pointed out that I stated the incorrect position of the steering rack on the subframe, where the mounting tabs on the front subframe should point towards the front of the car!
