JOSEPH C KNOWLES – 1898

Joseph C Knowles was a retired photographer. His studio was located on Purchase Street among a row of other photography studios between Union and Elm Streets. Joseph and his wife Mary purchased the land and had started construction on their retirement home when four months later Joseph dies suddenly at age 61. His wife Mary completed the construction of the home and moved in during 1899, and lived here the rest of her life until 1916.
