On Christmas Eve in 1994, an Airbus carrying 177 people and 15 tons of highly flammable jet fuel explodes over Paris. Burning debris rains down on the City of Light, setting fire to everything in its wake. It’s a catastrophic precursor to 9/11… only it never happened!

That was the plan, however, Flight AF8969 was hijacked as the Airbus was getting ready for take off from Algiers to Paris. Algeria was in a state of civil war. As the plane flew across the Mediterranean, dramatic news reached the French government. It was discovered that the hijackers wanted to go on to Paris and explode the plane over the city.
