In November 2018, Sergei Dreznin did a residency at the Austrian Cultural Forum, New York. A recital at the ACF was followed by the piano Masterclass at the Steinway Hall. Sergei used this chance to present the unique pedagogical method developed by his teacher Boris Berlin, professor of the Russian Academy of Music. For more than 50 years, Berlin was teaching at RAM and became a legendary figure in Moscow's rich cultural life. The so called Berlin System can be compared with Stanislavsky Method Acting. Sergei's masterclass consists of 3 parts. Part one - the explanation of the main principles of the System: shaping sound and phrasing, developing the imagination, mastering technical means and the posture at the piano. Part two - working on Liszt Dante Sonata-Fantasia. Part three - working on Tchaikovsky Concerto No.1, 1 mvt. @Академия фортепианной интерпретации Сергея Дрезнина
