Second Stimulus Check Timeline... These people may have to wait until April

When will we get a second stimulus check? For many, a payment will come quickly.. for some it may take a while. In this stimulus update we cover who falls through the cracks.

We’re looking at $600 checks to individuals who earned up to $75,000 last year. Over $75,000 a year the check size slowly decreases until it zeros out at $99,000 per year in AGI.

Joint filers have a maximum income of $150,000 last year to receive a full $1200 payment.

The same as last time child dependents will also be given payments. Well the payments will go to whoever claims them on their taxes, that is.

Some people will get paid extremely fast. Last week when the stimulus bill was originally expected to pass Secretary Mnuchin said we can expect checks electronically by the following week.

Well it is the following week and the bill finally got signed so we’re not getting payments this week but all of the systems are still in place to get them out quickly.

The first electronic checks are expected to be out by January 4th, with many more coming out between the 4th and 8th of January.

Those who are set to receive mailed payments may be in a different boat under current guidance, though.
You will receive $600 per child dependent. So for some examples a couple with 3 kids would receive $3000, a couple with 1 kid gets $1800, and a single parent who claims their 2 kids on their taxes would receive $1800.

This round of stimulus was a little more kid friendly than the last round where payments came out to $500.

Unfortunately taxpayers will receive no additional stimulus payment for any claimed adult dependents. This is an unfortunate item that was taken out last minute in stimulus negotiations in order to get the deal passed.
