DIY Toddler Bed with Gary (my dad)

We made a toddler bed! In this video we show you how!

For the bed, the supplies we got at Home Depot were:

~Four 1X4’s cut into 8 slats for the mattress to sit on

~Seven 2X3’s cut into the pieces for the bottom frame and top frame. We had extras we cut into smaller pieces for the lips to hold the slats for the mattress

~Fifteen 3/4” dowels for the bars. We cut thirty seven 16” bars for the whole crib. We overestimated how many to buy.

~Screws

~Wall putty

~Sandpaper

~Paint
Tools we used for this project

~Drill for assembly

~Router to round the edges

~Miter saw (could use chop saw as well) to cut the length. Remember to measure twice before cutting!

~Belt sander to rough sand on the raw wood

~Orbital sander to make the rough sanding smoothed out for painting

~Drill press to drill holes into the wood for dowels and screws

~3/4" Forstner Bit for the drill press for the dowel holes

~Paint brush lol.
