Mojave Road Trip Day 3: Phonebooth, Lava Tubes, Mojave Mailbox and Traveler's Monument
Welcome to Wonderhussy Adventure #268
My friends Larry, Jessica, Myron and I set off to travel the length of the famous Mojave Road -- an epic off-road trail that basically runs for 133 miles from Needles to Barstow, right through the most desolate part of the Mojave Desert! This road follows an ancient Indian path that was later used by pioneer wagon trains -- so you never know WHAT you'll find on the trail.
In part 3 of 4, we leave our campsite midway along the Road and continue eastward, stopping at the site of the old Mojave Phone Booth, an abandoned cinder mine, some lava tubes, the Mojave Road mailbox, and the famous Mojave Road Traveler's Monument...where there is a brass plaque bearing a secret inscription that can never be revealed online!
