The Panzer II is quite surprising although only equipped with a 2 cm auto-cannon it was intended to give the Panzerwaffe a tank with anti-tank capability. Although even in 1940 the 3.7 cm guns turned out to be too weak against various tanks. Fact is the Panzer II was a stopgap solution, until the Panzer III and Panzer IV could enter mass production. There several more surprising facts about the Panzer II in this video, many taken from the German Army Field Regulations (Heeresdruckvorschriften). Additionally, we also look at how many Panzer II were used in the early to mid campaigns, namely Case White - Poland (1939), Case Yellow - France (1940) and Operation Barbarossa - Soviet Union (1941).
