Drop Voltage Instantly! How to Convert 15V to 12V Using Diodes
In this video, I will show you the simplest DIY electronics hack to convert a 15V DC output down to 12V DC using only standard rectifying diodes!
If you don't have a buck converter or a voltage regulator like the LM7812 on hand, you can use the natural forward-biased voltage drop of silicon diodes (around 0.7V per diode) connected in series to safely lower your voltage. We will step-by-step calculate how many diodes you need, wire them up, and test the final 12V output with a multimeter under load.
