May 4, 2025: The sidewheeler Alida, 1870

A waterfront classic, only the second extant photo of Seattle's waterfront. It features the Starr brothers' steam ship Alida, for a few weeks, the fastest on the Sound, but soon to be replaced by heavier, more powerful vessels. Jean narrates.
