Why you should take chances | Marek Zmyslowski | TEDxIfe

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. What happens when even your parents do not believe in you? How do you cope with growing up and being made to do what you do not want to? How do you survive dropping out of school? Marek, the CEO of a Lagos-based internet company, but originally from Warsaw, relates his entrepreneurial story with a generous lace of humour to an audience that is touched by not just the story and its lessons, but also the sincerity of the telling.

Marek Zmyslowski, 28 years old, is the Managing Director of Jovago.com, Africa’s No 1. Booking Portal. He established the first branch of the company in Africa in August 2013. Before that, he successfully co-founded and exited online ventures in Poland. Being an enthusiast of African culture and economic development, Marek moved to Nigeria to become a part of the continent’s online revolution. He is an internet geek, fashion enthusiast, and sports addict. Marek is also a former snowboard instructor, holding a racing license.
