Twelfth round of the 1993 500cc Motorcycle Grand Prix Season. Luca Cadalora scores his second win of the season in front of his home crowd, ahead of Mick Doohan and Kevin Schwantz. However, the race is marred by a serious crash involving championship leader and defending champion Wayne Rainey. Heading into the first corner on lap ten while leading the race, the Californian lowsides and somersaults across the inadequately designed gravel trap, landing heavily on his head and breaking his spine. Rainey would be permanently paralysed from the chest down, ending his career and effectively handing the championship to his great rival Schwantz.

Also included is the podium presentation and the last three laps of the 250cc race, won by Jean-Philippe Ruggia.
