Prosecutor: If Villar Land insists on SEC referral, defense plea to be treated as counter-affidavit

On The Scene: Officials of Villar Land Holdings Corporation, including the Villar family, have asked the panel of prosecutors of the Department of Justice to order the return of the insider trading and market manipulation complaints back to the Securities and Exchange Commission for the determination of probable cause. Meanwhile, Justice Secretary Fredderick Vida urged officials and personnel of the Department of Justice and its attached agencies to include their families and their homes in energy conservation efforts amid continuing tensions in the Middle East.
