The 2020 NBA rookie class got a bad reputation early in the season but they finished strong. Zion Williamson, Ja Morant and RJ Barrett were the top 3 picks and each went into a very different situation. Some rookies like Cam Reddish, Jarrett Culver and even Coby White were considered busts at first before turning it around. Others were surprise standouts like Brandon Clarke and Eric Pashcall. NBA All-Rookie team could come out soon if the regular season is cancelled. For now an NBA rookie report card tells the story of this 2020 class. Ja Morant should win rookie of the year by a unanimous vote but Zion Williamson showed he would have won if health permitted. The disappointments included De’Andre Hunter, Darius Garland and Cam Johnson although fans of their teams will tell you otherwise.

One bright spot was Coby White towards the end of the suspended season. The ex-UNC Tarheel lit up the league in the final 13 games and had earned a starting spot in the Bulls backcourt. The best pick was Brandon Clarke at 21st overall. The Grizzlies rookie should make the rookie first team and adds a versatile element to the Memphis young core.
