In this video, we've tried swapping our EE Smart Plus Hub router for a TP-Link Archer BE9300, to show what's involved in making the replacement, and what you can expect in terms of performance.
Many people are left dissatisfied with their provided router's WiFi performance, and settings and customisation options, meaning that some people end up replacing their router with a third-party option.
We found that replacing our default ISP router was difficult in terms of getting set up, and once online, we ran into a huge amount of connection and speed issues, which we found hard to resolve.
While many people upgrade their routers successfully, we think that it's not always a good idea, especially with BT, EE, and potentially other Openreach broadband providers.
