Dried Rose Petal Paper 🥀✨

Should you happen to receive any roses for Valentine’s, consider this your sign to hang them (or lay the petals out) to dry for beautiful botanical crafting.

I have a habit of saving all my packaging or tissue paper for this 🙈 But it makes it zero waste, which is obviously a great thing 🌿

Here’s how you make this paper:

Puree some paper with a bunch of water in a blender. Letting the paper soak for a while before blending will make it easier to break up.

Pour into a large basin and add more water. You want plenty of water for the pulp to float around and create thinner sheets of paper. I don’t have exact measurements, simply play around with it a bit until you’re happy with the consistency.

Add your dried rose petals and leaves to the mix and swirl around. Then dip your screens (either a mould and deckle (I got mine off of Amazon) or a splatter screen, allowing water to drip off for a bit. Remove top piece of the frame and flip onto a towel. Using a sponge or rag, absorb as much water as you can from the other side of the screen (as shown.)

Allow to dry fully before admiring your beautiful work!
