Maiko WASAPI plugin on Win 7 exclusive mode

*I said bit-rate when I meant to say sample-rate, sorry.*

This shows the Maiko WASAPI plugin, running under Winamp on Windows 7, take exclusive control over the Realtek HDMI audio controller. The idea was if I ever ditch my DAC for the integrated solution in a good HT receiver, as an audiophile, it *MUST* bypass the internal resampling. DirectSound and other legacy methods are forced in to shared mode, meaning everything is getting resampled by the kernel. DirectSound is still the default system used in Winamp. Maiko is a WASAPI native plugin.

Once you configure Maiko to match output with the input and tell it to use exclusive mode, the output format will match the input, avoiding nasty coversions. The 96khz demo was taken from Blood, Sweat & Tears available on HDTracks, the 192khz is REM also from HDTracks, the 44.1 is from the acousic sessions of BNL's Everything To Everyone DVD-Audio disc, which contained 44.1/16 PCM (these were not from the dvd-video portion).

The laptop is an Asus G72GX hooked in to a Denon AVR-519 receiver. The speakers are an old vintage pair of JBL's with DIY cabinets, the 075 bullet tweeter, D130 15" vintage driver and N2400 crossover, sold in the sixties as the 030 kit. The TV is a Sharp Aquos 70" with Quattron. It was filmed with an Asus TF101 Transformer tablet.
