Central Heating Repair - Motorised Control Valve Fix

Winter is coming...and the central heating stops working properly :(

In my case the central heating was stuck permanently on along with the hot water. I diagnosed a problem with the motorised control valve/actuator. Basically it wouldn't move when the heating was switched off/on.

So in this video we take a look at the actuator which is a Drayton MA1 (mid-position valve) and see if we can repair it. The part which appears in the video came from Screwfix (in the UK):

As usual don't attempt this unless you're comfortable with electrics and basic plumbing. Also don't forget to cut the power to the system as there is live mains going into it!
