The full 1918 silent movie screened and distributed to movie theatre audiences through out the USA in 1918 to drum up support for the US involvement in WW1.

Although the sinking happened in 1915 the outrage was still fresh in the minds of most people in Britain and the USA. The evils of the German war machine had to be displayed to get the masses to enlist and support the American War effort.
