Why Some Hitters Have Easy Power (And How to Train it)
Most hitters are training power the wrong way.
They focus on individual muscles instead of how the body actually produces force as a connected system.
Your body is not a collection of parts. It is one elastic network.
Think of it like a system of rubber bands running through your entire body. When you load, you are stretching that system. When you swing, you are releasing it.
The better you are at creating and controlling that stretch, the more effortless power you produce.
That is why some smaller players can hit the ball just as hard as bigger athletes. They are not stronger in the traditional sense. They are more efficient with their elasticity.
In this video, I break down how fascia and elastic energy actually work in the swing, and how you can train it the right way.
We go over:
• Why power is created through the entire body, not isolated muscles
• How the fascial system connects opposite shoulder to opposite hip
• Why loading up and back creates a better stretch than just loading straight back
• How movements like a hitch can improve your ability to store elastic energy
• Why high level hitters naturally move in diagonal patterns
I also show you how to train this:
• Pogo jumps for lower body elasticity
• Med ball work for full body power transfer
• Bird dog rows, dead bugs, and bear crawls for diagonal core strength
• Opposite arm, opposite leg patterns to match how the body actually moves
• Fast, controlled swings to train stretch and rebound
If you want to create more power without forcing it, you have to train the system, not just the parts. Train elasticity. That is where real power comes from.
