Born Geoffrey Guy Forrest in Kingston, Jamaica, Koptiq Sun carries an incredible musical pedigree as the son of the legendary guitarist and bassist Bertram 'Ranchie' McLean. Emerging initially under the aliases 'Rich Kid' and 'Geoffrey Star,' he built a stellar reputation with hits like “I Don’t Know” and “Soulless Soldier,” and collaborated with reggae icons like Shabba Ranks, Jahmel, and Brinsley Forde (Aswad). His undeniable talent also led him to major European tours alongside legends like The Mighty Diamonds and Wayne Wonder, as well as contributing to Don Corleon’s iconic mid-2000s riddims, "Drop Leaf" and "Seasons."

Following a profound spiritual transformation and a pursuit of his higher self, he evolved into Koptiq Sun—marking a powerful new chapter of spiritual depth and artistic rebirth. Drawing inspiration from Bob Marley, Dennis Brown, and Beres Hammond, his music seamlessly blends traditional roots reggae with a unique, compelling modern identity.

Now partnered with Blue Pie Records and Judasha Productions, Koptiq Sun is on a mission to deliver pure musical magic that speaks directly to the heart and soul.
