Chinese New Year Parade London 2025 /// Chinese Lunar New Year

Chinese New Year Parade at Leicester Square in London on 2nd February 2025. It started at Trafalgar Suqare and moved via Leicester Square towards Chinatown. Celebration of the Year of the Snake in London, the biggest Chinese New Year celebration outside Asia.

Every year, thousands of people enjoy a colourful parade, free stage performances and traditional Chinese food, and to wish each other "Xin Nian Kuai Le" (Happy New Year in Chinese/Mandarin) or "Sun Nin Faai Lok" (Cantonese).

Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, is a festival that celebrates the start of a new year on the traditional lunisolar Chinese calendar. It is one of the most important holidays in Chinese culture. Marking the end of winter and the beginning of spring, this festival takes place from Chinese New Year's Eve (the evening preceding the first day of the year) to the Lantern Festival, held on the 15th day of the year. The first day of Chinese New Year begins on the new moon that appears between 21 January and 20 February.

In 2026 Chinese New Year will be on February 17th.
