Hegseth Says Military Isn’t “Evading” the 60 Day Deadline

Donald Trump's Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, was brutally mocked on Tuesday after it was noticed that his title was left off during his testimony before a Senate budget committee.

Speaking alongside General Dan Caine, the Cabinet member was forced to answer several questions about the rising cost of the Iran war and the proposed $1.5 billion Pentagon budget. However, while the hearing remained cordial among the committee members, there was one glaring issue.

Hegseth's name placard drew some focus as his title, "Secretary of War," was seemingly left off and replaced with "Defense Secretary." The wrong title comes as both Hegseth and Trump have attempted to rebrand the department since retaking office in 2025.
