Why You Should Install Kali Linux from ISO (Not Prebuilt VirtualBox Images)

In this video, I explain why installing Kali Linux from the official ISO file is a better approach than using prebuilt VirtualBox images.

While preconfigured Kali Linux VirtualBox images may appear convenient, they can sometimes introduce limitations or unexpected issues—particularly when installing additional packages or tools using standard package management commands such as sudo apt install.

To avoid these problems, I demonstrate a clean Kali Linux installation using the ISO file inside VirtualBox. This method ensures a fully functional system, proper package management behavior, and a more realistic virtualized Linux environment.

As a practical example, I install gedit using the following command:

sudo apt install gedit

This confirms that the system works as expected and that all core features are fully available without errors or restrictions.
