Alright, so this is the 4 string version (5 string will come later :). I've always loved this song (I say that about most of these, I know, but it's true) and it comes on the radio quite frequently. I think I was in 6th or 7th grade before I finally understood the whole metaphor of the song, and I just cracked up once I figured it out. It still makes me smirk to this day just thinking about it

Bassist: Rick Savage
Rick often uses a pick and a 5 string schecter.

I'm going to do this song with a 5 string (original) version, and a 4 string (better for most people) version.
It's overall a really easy song, but I want to make sure that I get it right

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84iPNM0ZXt0
0:21 - pick, 5 string bass
1:30 - you can see him hit an organ/synth pedal thing with his feet, but also play the notes on the bass

Also, in the 2nd bridge, you can hear that it's only quarter notes, rather than a 16th note thing
It also sounds like in the chorus, it's just the 8th notes on 1 and 3, with no pickup 16th into the next bar

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KlSqdENqZ8w
can't really see anything, but you can clearly hear in the chorus that there's no pickup note. the bass is real easy to hear.
2nd chorus too
4:01 - confirms what I was hearing - 16ths into a quarter

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9NP8jaOxf0
You can also hear the bass pretty well. No pickup note in the chorus for the bass.
it also doesn't have the 16ths in the bridge that I put and saw/heard in the previous video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iaHxSnyof3A
another live, from 1993, and no 16ths in the chorus
3:53 - does the 16ths in the bridge

in most of the of the recordings, the fill to the chorus is held by rick, old and new.
Also, at the end of the chorus, he often goes up in pitch, rather than keeping the same like the album

Thanks for watching! Enjoy :)
