How to play keys under your pastor: Altar Call chord progressions
It can be really easy to fall into a rut when underscoring, so we'd encourage you to try something new to keep it interesting. Get the sounds used in the video: https://sundaysounds.com/sunday-keys
With a little planning in advance, you can have a favorite patch and progression ready to go.
Check out this new video where Ryan from Sunday Sounds teaches you how he likes to play under a pastor or speaker. Learn this progression and then implement it the next time you need to fill some space at church!
Part A:
6m - 5/7 - 1 - 4
(The 4 chord here is a great place to mix things up, add some "flavor sauce notes" or jump up/down octaves. Do this sparingly or it will feel like you are overplaying)
Part B:
6m - 5 - 4
End:
1 - this feels more hopeful
6m - this feels more somber
Leave a comment if you have a chord progression you like to use for underscoring and we may feature it in a video!
