The series is hosted by Stephanie Moran Reed, founder of @mijabooks, and will feature some of our creative team, our book donees, and other AfroLatinx, Black, and Latinx creators!

Our first discussion is with Marysol Perez of Equity Through Literacy. We're proud to announce their organization as one of our partner nonprofits. Kickstarter backers will have the opportunity to donate copies of our book to this wonderful community organization.

Equity Through Literacy is a 501(c)3 nonprofit agency that has taken the lead on empowering marginalized communities through literacy by providing collaborative, family-focused strategies and access to books to strengthen the connections between literacy and the community.

Through our collaborative efforts we have distributed over 10,000 (new or like-new) books and additional essential resources to children in under-resourced communities, grades PreK-12th in English and Spanish. Our goal is to continue expanding our work across our most marginalized communities in LA county with the mission of empowering families through literacy.
