383 Stroker Swap! | 1987 Monte Carlo Prodi-G, Ep. 3

We’re turning up the heat on our Monte Carlo build with a serious power upgrade! If doubling horsepower is the goal, there’s only one way to get there… more displacement. We’re swapping out the tired, stock 305 with a Blueprint Engines 383 crate engine. This setup is built for real-world street performance with major gains in both horsepower and torque.

In this video, we:

Break down the Blueprint 383 stroker internals

Pull the Chevy 305 from the engine bay

Add a Summit Racing dual-plane intake manifold

Upgrade airflow with Hedman headers and custom mid-pipes

Prep for installation with our Summit Max EFI system

Send the Monte Carlo back to SEMA Garage in Detroit for power and emissions testing

Stay tuned as we drop this crate engine into the Monte and bring this build one step closer to the street!
