The #MahindraThar is a compact, four-wheel drive, off-road Jeep CJ-like SUV manufactured by Indian automaker #Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd. The second generation #Thar was unveiled on August 15, 2020. It comes with two engine options, a 2.0-litre petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel. Both are offered with a choice of 6-speed automatic transmission (with a torque converter gearbox) or 6-speed manual transmission. Customers have the option to choose between a hard top, soft top or soft top with convertible like folding down mechanism. The first generation of Thar was 1949 Willys CJ-3A, then came Willys CJ-3B in 1953, in 1985 came the Mahindra MM540, MM550 in 1995, Classic in 1996, Major in 2000, Legend in 2006, Thar arrived in 2010 and this 9th generation launched this month.
